Chamber of Architects Award for outdoor facilities
In October the Chamber of Architects Baden-Wuerttemberg honored our Erbe Academy with an award for its outdoor facilities. The jury`s treasons were the "attractive combination of an extensive spatial building with a high outdoor quality of stay despite limited space". Furthermore, the management of the existing tree population on the grounds and the materials used for the extension building were highly praised.
The extension of our headquarters in Tübingen also meant a new design of the outdoor facilities on the grounds. A garden with a lavish terrace and extensive plants was created for the Erbe Academy and its seminar areas and canteen. The trees already existing prior to the extension were preserved. Seating areas in the green outdoors offer employees and guests the opportunity of spending their lunchtime outdoors and lend the grounds an atmosphere of relaxation.
In in-house design committee was responsible for the planning and implementation of the outdoor facilities. The Tübingen landscape architect, Dagmar Hedder, was supported by Susanne Erbe-Thede and Birgit Sutter-Erbe in the joint design of the outdoor facilities.
To raise awareness for everyday building culture, the Chamber of Architects has for years been holding an award procedure under the motto Exemplary Building. The objective is to find exemplary architecture in a living context and to reward architects and principals with an award for their mutual commitment. Here find out more about the award procedure and the award winners 2011-2017.
