"Enterprise Medal" of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg for Christian O. Erbe
The Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut awarded Christian O. Erbe with the Enterprise Medal on 23 November in the Neues Schloss in Stuttgart.
"With your highly innovative family-run company you are virtually unparalleled in the region for spirited research", explained minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut in her eulogy. She further stated, "By doing so, you have made a decisive contribution to making our state the number 1 location for medical technology in Europe."
Christian O. Erbe is managing partner of Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH. He manages the company in its 5th generation together with his brother-in-law Reiner Thede. Before that he spent three years running the group's business in Eastern Europe, followed from 1995 to 2002 as President and CEO of the US subsidiary.
Presently our company employs a staff of over 1,000 people, twice as many as in the year 2002. The company's growth is reflected by our infrastructure. The size of operations in Tübingen was doubled through the acquisition of further real estate and the development of existing premises.
Since 2004, Christian O. Erbe has been active as Honorary Board Member of the Professional Association of Electromedical Technology of the General Association of the Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry (ZVEI) e.V. In 2014, he became its chairman. He is also a member of the Executive Committee in the General Association. Since 2010, he has been President of the Reutlingen Chamber of Industry and Commerce and in 2017, he became Vice President of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. In addition to other honorary activities, he is chairman of MEDICA's Industry Committee and is involved in the committees of colleges and universities as well as institutions involved in basic research.
The Enterprise Medal is one of the highest honors that the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg bestows and is awarded for outstanding entrepreneurial performance.
